Food Packing Event Sign Up

The Fort Collins Eyeopeners Kiwanis Club is dedicated to making an impact in their community. One issue that impacts Fort Collins, Colorado, is hunger. While there are several different food drives the community hosts in the fall season, the Food Bank of Larimer Country is always looking for donations and assistance.

This year our club would like to thank the Rocky Mountain District Foundation for generously supporting this event and donating $2,500 towards the cost of food! That helps pay for 10,000 meals. We would also like to thank the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado’s Give Next Fund for donating $1,000 towards this event and purchasing 4,000 meals.

The Colorado Feeding Kids Food Packing Event will return in 2020! Date to come once it is confirmed, but we will pack at the Larimer County Warehouse, 5706 Wright Drive, in Loveland.

Project history:

Colorado Feeding Kids is an organization that was started by Ken Bradley. Ken is a Kiwanis member himself so the Rocky Mountain District has a history of working with the organization and making an impact. In 2016 the Fort Collins Eyeopeners hosted Ken and his team and worked with Kiwanis clubs from across Northern Colorado to pack 21,500 meals that were distributed to both the Larimer County Food Bank and the Weld County Food Bank.

In 2018 the event was hosted for the third year and we were able to pack 20,000 meals. A huge thank you to Walmart for a grant that helped pay for the cost of food.

In 2017 the event was hosted at the Larimer County Food Back for a second year. Thanks to our sponsors Encompass Medical Partners and the Allstate Foundation we were able to pack 24,840 meals.

Since the food packing event was held for the first time in 2016, we have packed over 70,000 meals that have been distributed across Northern Colorado.
