Eyeopeners Celebrates 50 Years of Serving Northern Colorado Children, Families, and Community


On March 25, 2023, Eyeopeners Kiwanis celebrated 50 years of service to the children, families, and northern Colorado community. Nearly 100 Eyeopeners members, guests, and community leaders attended the event.

Joining the celebration were Fort Collins Mayor Pro Tem Emily Francis, Larimer County Commissioner John Kefalas, Immediate Past President Kiwanis International Children’s Fund Bob Garretson, Rocky Mountain District Governor Dawn Ignatius, Rocky Mountain District Governor Elect Ann Sterling, and Rocky Mountain District Lt. Governor Lisa Schroers, who also was the event’s emcee.

Eyeopeners President Ryan Caldwell, founding Eyeopeners member Bill Ruesch, and long time Eyeopeners’ member Jack Gianola shared stories of how Eyeopeners started, and highlighted the impact Eyeopeners has made and will continue to make in the lives of children and families in northern Colorado.

Representatives from Colorado State University CKI, Colorado Early Colleges High School Key Club, Liberty Common High School Key Club and Middle School Builders Club, Fort Collins High School Key Club, and Rocky Mountain High School Key Club also attended.
