The 2023 Gingerbread Home for the Holidays event was a great success as hundreds of holiday shoppers visited the display at the Opera Galleria. Over 700 people voted on their favorite houses.
Best overall design was awarded to Team Brashear, whose design included a greenhouse and the legs of Santa Clause stuck in the chimney.
The most creative design went to Bank of Colorado, Johnstown who designed a beautiful house with many trees in the yard.
The Bank of Colorado South won “Best Theme” for their “Barbie House.”
The Rocky Mountain High School Key Club’s entry won the best of the Key Cub entries.
What better way to close out the Gingerbread Home For The Holidays event that with a gingerbread house destruction party! Members of the Boys and Girls Club Harmony Club took the leftover gingerbread houses and gave them a good smacking.
Kiwanis members Jim O’Neill and Jim Packard enjoyed watching (and helping) the Harmony Club kids have fun! In less than an hour, 15 gingerbread houses that were destined for the trash were reduced to 3 large bags of fragments.
