Signature Projects
The Eyeopeners Kiwanis Club has three different signature projects.
Fishing Derby
Each year our club teaches disadvantaged kids how to fish and provides them a free fishing pole. The project centers around teaching kids a positive hobby to participate in.
Swimsuit Lesson Book
The Swimsuit Lesson book was written by John Holsten, a retired Fort Collins police officer. The book teaches kids about safe touching in an accessible way. Each year we distribute books to elementary schools across the Poudre School District.
Colorado Feeding Kids Food Packing Event
We partner with Key Clubs, CKI, and other Kiwanis Clubs to pack meals that are distributed to Larimer and Weld Counties. These meals go to those who have a proven need.
Service Leadership Programs
The Eyeopeners sponsor five High School Key Clubs, one University Circle K, and one alternative learning center “Aktion” Club in Fort Collins.
